The rainy season has arrived in Coral Springs, but it isn’t slowing down weekend events in and around the city.

Art enthusiasts can enjoy a new exhibit at the Coral Springs Museum of Art. You can get hands-on with a free miniature-building class this weekend or jam out with plenty to eat and drink with Pig Vicious BBQ, Sharkey’s Bar and Grill — or several other live music options.

Plus, catch meet-and-greets, library sessions for all ages and fitnesses classes.

Here’s what’s happening from Friday, June 5, through Sunday, June 7, in and around Coral Springs:

Friday

Faileontology: Oops, Fake Dinosaurs (1:30 to 2:30 p.m.)

Ever heard of paleontologists accidentally making a dinosaur that doesn’t exist? Learn about various cases of fossils that were either misidentified or never existed with experts in this online seminar. Learn more on the Broward Libraries virtual events page.

Pig Vicious Rock ‘n Roll Party (5 to 9 p.m.)

Enjoy barbecued meats and live music from variety dance band Bigfoot at this first Friday event. Learn more on Facebook.

Opening reception for new art museum exhibitions (6 to 9 p.m.)

Be one of the first guests at the Coral Springs Museum of Art’s free double-feature exhibition celebrating the American landscape through world-famous photography and contemporary art pieces. Trash to Treasure (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

Swap, sell and shop at this group yard sale benefiting students and teachers at Ramblewood Middle School. Plus, check out food trucks and baked goods available for purchase. Learn more on Facebook.

Muscles for Memories fundraiser (9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

Ignite Yoga and Fitness will host its first fundraiser for Alzheimer’s research, featuring team-based workouts, spin, bootcamp and yoga. Massages, snacks, refreshments and raffle prizes will also be available. Organizers request a $50 donation per participant. Learn more on Facebook.

Summer at the library (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

Celebrate the end of the school year at the Northwest Regional Library with various activities, crafts, face painting and more, with additional resources available for those who want to participate in the annual summer reading program. Meet local authors (2 to 3 p.m.)

Adults are invited to an intimate meet-and-greet with two local authors, Marilyn Johansen, author of “My Father’s Secrets,” and Amily D’Nas, author of “Beneath the Swaying Willow,” to learn about the inspirations, writing process and more. Register to attend on the library events page.

Miniatures building workshop (5 to 8 p.m.)
