As of Friday, April 24, the Coral Springs Manhattan Bagel location at 4610 N. University Drive is permanently closed, according to an update on its Facebook page.

Serving New York-style bagels, plus sandwiches, salads, sweets and coffee, the Coral Springs location was the brand’s only one in Florida. The nearest Manhattan Bagel, according to the company’s website, is a 700-mile drive away in Charlotte, North Carolina.

This continutes a trend of bagel shop shakeups in the area, with newcomers Mitch’s Downtown at the Cornerstone development and Long Island Bagel Cafe on Coral Ridge Drive coming to the city amid recent closures, including Family Bagels of Long Island.

It’s one of the first local closures for a major corporate chain. Panera Brands, which also owns Panera Bread, Caribou Coffee, Einstein Bros. Bagels and Bruegger’s Bagels, has owned the franchise since 2021.

The Coral Springs News is working to confirm the reason for the closure.
