A Coral Springs parenting hub has been recognized by Gusto, an HR software company for small- to mid-sized businesses, for its positive impact on the community.

The Motherhood Village won the Southeast Region’s Gusto Impact Awards grand prize, which includes $40,000 in advertising, $10,000 in cash and a year of payroll support.

It’s come a long way since 2019, when owner Nicole Gonzalez-Cumberbatch launched a podcast about navigating being a working mom.

“I needed an outlet,” Gonzalez-Cumberbatch said. “I was a corporate executive and I had my first child, and I was struggling to balance everything.”

The podcast became more than just a pet project.

“It made me realize I’m not alone,” she told the Coral Springs News. “I wanted to take that further.”

Gonzalez-Cumberbatch founded the Motherhood Village in 2021. She described the era as “nomadic,” as the community held events with other businesses and organizations.

In 2025, it expanded to a former play center space in The Walk, offering workshops, support and connection.

The Motherhood Village offers a full cafe with food and drinks for all ages, with space designed for working parents.

“We’re one of a kind. There’s other play centers, but really at the heart, at the center is education, connecting moms to resources,” Gonzalez-Cumberbatch said. “I try to balance being a business and giving back to the community.”

Events and classes for kids include tumbling, slime-making, no-school camps and homeschooling pods. Moms are also a key demographic, with offerings including prenatal yoga, labor and birth talks, social gatherings and date nights.

Gonzalez-Cumberbath told the Coral Springs News that she plans to use the $10,000 grant from Gusto to cover overhead costs, but is most excited for the $40,000 advertising boost.

“Our biggest challenge is people don’t know we’re here,” she said. “We still have people who go to get their nails done and they go, ‘Oh I didn’t realize you were here.’”

The Motherhood Village is membership-based, with monthly rates ranging from $60 to $120. Class pass packages are also available for $105 or $200.
