Celebrate Black Music Month with Treemonisha (10:30 to 11:15 a.m.)
Kids ages 3 and older are invited to this interactive event at Northwest Regional Library using music and dance to improve reading comprehension, listening and memory skills. This iteration features “Treemonisha,” a Scott Joplin opera about how a young African-American girl transforms her community thorugh education. Make your own sea turtle bookmarks (6 to 7 p.m.)

Many students struggle with reading and experience learning loss over the summer, but this program is designed to help. Teen volunteers participating in Reach Out and Read (ROAR) will read with children in first through third grade, help them select age-appropriate books and engage in simple literacy activities. Panthers Summer Reading Tour (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
Broward County Library is launching its partnership with the Florida Panthers for the 2026 Summer Reading Tour at Northwest Regional Library. Each stop will feature a Florida Panthers special guest reader and the Panther Patrol will be on site at all locations with family-friendly games and giveaways along with appearances from Stanley C.
